Sigma Upsilon Mu Est. 2014 Cal State Fullerton

Questions, answered straight

Everything people actually ask before they rush: what it costs, what it takes, whether your major matters, and how Fall 2026 works. No hedging. If your question isn't here, ask the board directly.

Is this for me?

Do I need to be a business major?

No. SUM is open to every major, and some of the strongest builders here never took a business class. Entrepreneurship is a way of operating, not a department.

What if I have never started anything?

Good. The phoenix is on our crest because nobody gets it right the first time. The pledge program exists to take you from zero to shipping, with a Big, a family, and a class doing it beside you.

Is SUM co-ed?

Yes, since the founding in 2014. Brothers and sisters, one family, same standard.

What SUM actually is

What does "execution-focused" actually mean?

The semester is built around doing. Workshops where you build something, programs with deliverables, and peers who notice when you don't ship. If you want a club that meets to discuss ideas, we are honestly not it.

Where do you meet?

Find us on the CSUF campus. RSVP on the calendar and you'll know exactly where we are each week.

Time and money

The two questions that decide it for most people, answered without a sales pitch.

How much time does it take?

Weekly workshops plus events through the semester. It is a real commitment by design, and you get out what you put in. If you are stretched thin this term, rush when you can give it proper attention.

Are there dues?

Yes. Dues fund the semester: workshops, retreat, and events. The full breakdown is presented openly at Bid Dinner. Payment plans and other financing options are available; contact us to find out more.

How to join for Fall 2026

Start with the two-minute quiz, which puts you on the rush list. Then meet us in person: DiscoverFest on August 26 or 27 at the Intramural Field, or a social in the first weeks. RSVP on the events calendar so we know to look for you. Standout candidates are invited to Bid Dinner in September.
